From the shores of Ireland to the coast of Alabama

Gulf Shores St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

St. Patrick’s Day brings a wave of celebrations to Alabama’s Gulf Coast each year. It all started with beloved Bill McGinnes of Papa Rocco's fame. Now restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues across the coast plan special events for locals and visitors. Many gatherings feature live music, themed drinks, and Irish-inspired food. The celebrations range from large pub crawls to relaxed gatherings at breweries and beachside venues.

Events begin on March 15 with a full-day celebration at
ONE Club. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and includes a Sunday Scramble golf tournament, all-day happy hour drink specials, and a free burger with the purchase of a drink. Live bagpipers perform at 6 p.m. Guests at ONE Club can take part in the “Boat-In-Two” contest for a chance to win a $1,500 set of golf clubs. The event also features March Madness bracket games, merchandise discounts, and activities across the property, including pools, golf, and outdoor screens.

On March 17, the Annual Pub Crawl takes place at
Papa Rocco’s. Doors open at 8 am, and the Pub Crawl starts at 9:30 a.m. The event traditionally draws more than 1,000 participants. The group walks to several downtown bars and restaurants before wrapping up around 2 p.m.

Live music is scheduled throughout the day at
The Hangout on March 17. Performances start at 10 a.m. and continue until the venue closes at 10 p.m. Guests can stop in anytime during the day for music, food, and drinks.

The celebration continues at
Galway Irish Public House beginning at 11 a.m. on March 17. The Irish pub plans traditional food, live music, and drink specials throughout the day. Guinness and classic Irish dishes are expected to feature on the menu.

Irish-style food is also featured at
O’Choppers Almost Irish Pub on March 17. Menu items typically include shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and Guinness stew. Guests can pair the meals with draft beer while taking part in the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

In Orange Beach,
Dick’s Last Resort hosts a St. Patrick’s Day event from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on March 17. Specials include $5 Irish Slammers and bucket deals on Guinness. The restaurant also plans prize giveaways and a prize wheel.

At
Big Beach Brewing Company, visitors can celebrate during St. Patrick’s Day weekend with live music and craft beer. The brewery often pairs seasonal brews with holiday food offerings. Guests can stop by to sample beers and enjoy the music lineup.

IceHouse Tap Room
in Gulf Shores joins the festivities with a bright, shamrock-filled St. Patrick’s Day poster promoting its role in Papa Rocco’s Pub Crawl on March 17. The graphic highlights green pints, pots of gold, and live music, with Chris Beverly & Mason and the Tim Roberts Full Band featured for a full day of entertainment at the Lagoon Bar and tap room.
