The Wharf in Orange Beach is gearing up for its annual Fourth of July street party. The party starts on Wednesday, July 3rd, with festivities beginning at 5 p.m.


Families can enjoy various activities, including a bubble truck, surfboard simulator, bounce houses, face painting, and camel rides. There will also be a patriotic challenge obstacle course, a rock wall, and a reptile bus.


Special guests Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam will make appearances. The evening will start with the National Anthem at 8:45 p.m. followed by a fireworks show.


After the fireworks, attendees can watch the SPECTRA Laser Light Experience. The best viewing area for both the fireworks and SPECTRA will be on Main Street. The palm trees on Main Street will be lit up in red, white, and blue for the celebration.


July 3rd

  • Independence Day Street Party presented by Beachball Propertie: 5-9 pm
  • This celebration is all about red, white + FUN! There will be family friendly activities in the Entertainment District including a bubble truck, bounce houses, face painting ($10), camel rides ($10), Photo 360 Booth, stilt walker, balloon artist, juggler, Reptile Bus, DJ Matt spinning dancing tunes, special appearances by Lady Liberty, Uncle Sam + more.
  • We'll end the night with the palm trees dancing in patriotic colors during our SPECTRA Laser Light Experience. And don’t forget about the grand finale of the night… a fireworks show at 8:45 pm!


July 4th

  • Shark Run 5K: 7 am
  • Don't forget to register now for this race featuring 3 categories: 5K run, 5K competitive wall + 1 mile fun run.
  • Post race party at Sandshaker: An awards party with DJ Blaze + refreshments with cold beverages
  • Under the Sea: 6-9 pm
  • Fireworks



All activities and the fireworks show are presented by Beachball Properties.

Tracking fish with sonar has been available to the public since 1948, when the famous Furuno brothers introduced the product in their native Japan. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. The results could impact local fishing seasons in the future.

It’s Saturday morning, the second day of the 6A Section 1 Track Meet at Saraland High School. Coach Brewer has piloted the Dolphins bus to this place several times this season, but today a thick, milky fog has engulfed the panorama, limiting the vision of what’s ahead, save for head coach Jason Hill. He’s studied today’s upcoming events and is hopeful for the upset.

A decorated urn containing human ashes washed up on Gulf Shores beach this past week, starting a mystery that local police have now solved. The container was discovered by people walking along the shore on West Beach on April 17. The urn had no name or identification on the outside.
