This weekend The Wharf is set to host its Annual Boat and Yacht Show, an event that promises to delight boat lovers. Scheduled from March 15 through March 17, the event showcases an impressive lineup of boats and boating related products tailored to cater to diverse interests.


The show kicks off on Friday, March 15, with the Red Carpet Spectacular, running from 10 am to 6 pm, setting the tone for the weekend. Saturday, March 16, is dubbed Ladies Day, presented by Lucca Boutique, offering a second full day of activities from 10 am to 6 pm. The boat show wraps up on Sunday, March 17, with Military Appreciation Day, from 10 am to 4 pm, where active and retired service members are welcomed free of charge with a valid ID.


The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show is not just a sales event; it's a celebration of the boating lifestyle, featuring over $100 million in boats and marine products. With more than 120 companies exhibiting, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a vast array of 80 wet slip boats and yachts, in addition to more than 300 sport and console boats on land. The event is known as the "Top Boat Buying Show" in the northern Gulf, making it a pivotal market space for the marine industry.


In addition to the extensive display of boats and yachts, the show offers a comprehensive experience with live music, kid's art classes led by marine artist Larry Rackley, and instructional seminars. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. It’s Saturday morning, the second day of the 6A Section 1 Track Meet at Saraland High School. Coach Brewer has piloted the Dolphins bus to this place several times this season, but today a thick, milky fog has engulfed the panorama, limiting the vision of what’s ahead, save for head coach Jason Hill. He’s studied today’s upcoming events and is hopeful for the upset.

A decorated urn containing human ashes washed up on Gulf Shores beach this past week, starting a mystery that local police have now solved. The container was discovered by people walking along the shore on West Beach on April 17. The urn had no name or identification on the outside.
