Low turnout and possible run-offs in primary vote results

Baldwin County Primary Election Results

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (GSN) – Though the turnout in Baldwin County was low for the Alabama primary election, the weather was clear and voters quickly cast their ballots at local polling stations. Only 40,382 ballots were cast in Baldwin County out of the more than 200,000 registered voters.


Candidates must receive more than 50% of the vote to avoid a runoff. If no candidate reaches that threshold, the top two candidates advance to a runoff election scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026


Here are a few of the most watched results in Baldwin County. For a full recap of State results visit HERE.


  • Governor:  Senator Tommy Tuberville (R) will be facing past Senator Doug Jones (D) in November. Tuberville won 82.7 % of the Republican vote in Baldwin County.


  • Lieutenant Governor: The Republican race has John Wahl defeating Wes Allen in Baldwin County by almost 20%, but in statewide results Wahl only wins 40.5% while Allen carried 38%. Ensler was the clear Democratic winner.


  • US Senator:  No Republican candidate gained a majority in statewide votes. Barry Moore (39.18%), Jared Hudson (25.63%) and Steve Marshall (24.53%). Though Moore did carry a majority in Baldwin County with (51.22%). The winner will face an unknown Democrat since none of the 4 candidates carried a majority in the statewide results.


  • US Representative District 1:  In district Republican results Jerry Carl had (40.28%) while Rhett Marques had (31.09%) of the vote. In Baldwin County Carl had more than twice the votes.


  • Attorney General:  Katherine Robertson carried 40.53% of the state and 45.65% in Baldwin County.


  • Secretary of State:  Caroleene Dobson was the clear winner of the State and County carrying over 65% in both.


  • State Treasurer:  Young Boozer was clear winner with 68.04% of the vote in the Alabama vote.


  • Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries:  While Christina Woerner McInnis had 63% in Baldwin County, she was almost tied statewide with Corey Hill. Both candidates were near 35%.


  • Baldwin County Sheriff:  Anthony Lowery edged out Matt McKenzie with 51.9% of the vote.


  • State Representative District 95:  Frances Holk-Jones obtained (42.4%) of the vote while her closest competitor, Joe Freeman had (38.5%) of the vote.


  • Board of Education, District 5:  Jason Woerner (64.5%)  handily beat Whitney Scapecchi (35.4%)


  • Circuit Court Judge:  Kristi Haygood defeated Jeremiah Giles with (62.7%) of the votes.


  • District Court Judge: Grant Blackburn defeated Liam Scully with (50.7%) of the votes.
