Foley, Ala. — (GSN) — In a rare occurrence for the Foley community, local police arrested a man early Wednesday morning following a series of break-ins. The Foley Police Department, supported by their K-9 Unit, took 33-year-old Mendrell Dewayne-Marion Porter of Foley into custody after responding to a security alarm at Benson's Appliance Center around 12:30 a.m.

Upon investigation, officers identified forced entry at both the appliance center and the neighboring Foley Service Center. Porter later confessed to these burglaries, as well as an additional commercial burglary and vehicle break-in from earlier in the month. He now faces multiple charges, including three counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle, and theft-related offenses. The department emphasized the importance of their partnership with local business owners in facilitating such a quick response to these unusual criminal events.
