Kids Win Fishing Tournament Returns to the Wharf

Orange Beach, Ala. — (GSN) — Young anglers along the Alabama Gulf Coast will have the chance to showcase their fishing skills this fall at The Wharf in Orange Beach. The Kids Win Fishing Tournament, presented by Rouses Markets, is open to children ages 3 to 10. The event will be held at Main Street and Marlin Circle at The Wharf. The tournament will benefit Make-A-Wish Alabama.
Children will compete in two age groups during the tournament. The "small fry" division is for ages three to six, and the "large fry" division is for ages seven to 10. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fishing begins Friday, September 25, 2026, at 5 p.m. and ends Saturday morning at 10 a.m., ahead of the weigh-ins.
Registration opens on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 9 a.m. and is limited to the first 125 children who sign up. The entry fee is $55 per child. Organizers say every participating child will be considered a winner and will have the chance to collect prizes and trophies.
Rouses Markets and Bryant Bank will sponsor kids' activities, snacks, and drinks for entrants during the weigh-ins at Marlin Circle. Goodie buckets and fishing rods are available only to the first 125 children who register. Participants must pick up their goodie buckets and fishing rods on either Wednesday, September 23, or Friday, September 25, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Pickup will take place at The Wharf Management Office, located at 4550 Main Street in Orange Beach. Families are encouraged to plan ahead, as supplies are limited to registered participants. No pickups will be available on the day of the event.
The Wharf is a popular waterfront destination in Orange Beach, hosting a variety of community events throughout the year. The Kids Win Fishing Tournament offers young children a hands-on introduction to fishing while supporting a charitable cause. Make-A-Wish Alabama grants wishes to children with critical illnesses statewide.
