Gulf Shores restaurant news

If you live in the area you know when someone says "the best fried shrimp in the entire civilized world" they are talking about Doc's Seafood Shack. The Canal Road location has been serving their famous shrimp since 1984 and are currently building a new location in Foley.

Southern Living magazine released their list of Top Seafood Shacks in the South this past week. Doc's made an amazing showing at the second best spot for 2025.

The spot where flip-flops are welcome, has been welcoming visitors from all across the country for 34 years.

Doc and his staff are always cookin’ up boatloads of fresh seafood and their world famous fried shrimp, and a “build-your-own” delicious seafood platter.

They’re also known to cook up a mess of famous fried fish and a big pot of the seafood gumbo! You can check out their seafood menu and think about your next trip down Canal Road while in the Gulf Coast area.

Plus, Doc’s big on lunch specials, raw oysters, chicken fingers, onion rings, cold draft beer and big ol’ deep water royal red shrimp.

In short, most locals would agree with Southern Living magazine. Unfortunately the secret is out.
