Foley Library Celebrates Black History Month

Foley Public LIbrary will celebrate Black History Month

The Foley Public Library will celebrate Black History Month with a series of special events Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The events throughout the day will allow participants to learn, reflect and celebrate as the library
honors Black History Month with special guests and powerful stories throughout the day.
Events include:
● 10:00 AM | Children’s Area
The day begins with Story Time featuring special guest FOX10 News’ Lenise Ligon as
she reads to our young patrons and celebrates Black history through storytelling. (No
registration required for this session.)
● 11:00 AM | Upstairs Meeting Room
Following story time, hear Lenise Ligon share her inspiring journey in journalism and
experiences in the media world. (Registration is required for this event.)
● 2:00 PM | Upstairs Meeting Room
Africatown will present stories that helped build a community, highlighting history,
resilience, and legacy. (Registration is required for this event.)
● 5:30 PM | Upstairs Meeting Room
The day concludes with Clara Esther, a living witness to history, who will share her
powerful memories of the day America lost Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (Registration is
required for this event.)
Everyone is invited to be part of the special day of remembrance, education, and celebration.
