Concert benefits Christian Service Center

Gulf Shores Benefit Concert

Local musicians are joining forces to help struggling families in lower Baldwin County through a benefit concert. The event aims to raise funds and collect food donations for the Christian Service Center. Six musical acts will perform at the fundraiser called Pantry Stock. Gulf Shores Middle School art students will also contribute by auctioning reproductions of famous album covers.

The concert will take place on Monday, December 15, at 6 p.m. at the Erie Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores. Organizers chose the name Pantry Stock as a tribute to the legendary Woodstock festival.

Economic challenges have hit many residents in lower Baldwin County particularly hard this season. Food prices remain elevated across the region. Local employment typically drops during this time of year. Meanwhile, area food banks are struggling to meet increased demand with limited resources.

The Christian Service Center serves as a critical resource for families facing food insecurity. The organization has seen growing numbers of people seeking assistance. Rising costs and seasonal employment changes have created perfect storm conditions for local families.

Several performers will take the stage during the benefit concert. The lineup includes Lisa Christian, Lynn Coffman, Group Therapy, The Heat, Basch Jernigan, Odd Nature, and Strickly Rivers. Each act volunteered their time to support the cause.

The concert offers free admission to encourage maximum community participation. However, organizers are requesting that attendees bring donations. Both food items and cash contributions will be accepted. All proceeds will go directly to the Christian Service Center.

The student art auction adds a creative element to the fundraising effort. Gulf Shores Middle School students created the artwork specifically for this event. Their reproductions of iconic album covers will be available for bidding throughout the evening.

Community members can make a difference by attending the event and bringing donations. The Christian Service Center relies on community support to continue its mission. Every contribution helps local families put food on their tables during difficult times.
