National Shrimp Festival Poster Contest Starts for 2025

The most cherished event along Alabama's coast is the National Shrimp Festival. For over 50 years 'Shrimp Fest' has brought in millions of visitors who sample the shrimp, listen to live music and view the amazing art. The Annual National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is inviting artists to design the official poster for its 52nd event, scheduled for October 9-12, 2025. 


The winning artwork will be featured in the festival's marketing materials and merchandise. The selected artist will receive a $1,000 cash prize and must attend an autograph session on Saturday, October 11, 2025.


Artists can submit their designs by mail or in person until noon on Friday, March 21, 2025. Detailed rules and submission requirements.

The National Shrimp Festival is a long-standing tradition in Gulf Shores, attracting nearly 250,000 visitors annually. The event features food, music, art, and various activities, making it a significant cultural celebration in the region. 


In previous years, the poster contest has highlighted talented artists. For instance, the 2024 festival featured artwork by Red Owen, a 72-year-old artist and U.S. Army veteran from Ragley, Louisiana.

Foley is adding more lights to the oak trees along city streets as part of a project to brighten the downtown area. The new lights will help make the area more welcoming and easier to walk through at night. They are part of a larger plan to improve lighting around town.
