Operation ReConnect is giving away a custom 2024 Jeep Wrangler to raise money for military families who need time to reconnect after deployment. The nonprofit organization helps combat veterans and their families spend a free week at the beach. The group has already helped hundreds of families since it started.

The official drawing will take place on Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11, at Tacky Jacks located at 27206 Safe Harbor Drive in Orange Beach. Raffle tickets cost $20 for one entry or five tickets for $100. People can buy tickets online at the Operation ReConnect website, or by calling 251-301-6808.

The vehicle being given away is a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport S called We The People 2. The custom Jeep features hand-painted graphics by Bufkin Air Design and parts from Rough Country. It includes a 3.5-inch lift kit, special shocks, front and rear bumpers with a tire carrier, and 16-million color accessory lighting. The Jeep also has electric folding steps, embroidered headrests with the Operation ReConnect logo, and 20-inch Rockstar III wheels with 35-inch tires.

Air Force veteran Ryan Charrier founded Operation ReConnect after his deployment to Afghanistan in 2014. He asked fellow service members what they wanted most when they returned home. Everyone said they wanted to spend quality time with their families. Charrier created the nonprofit to give combat veterans free seven-day beach vacations along the Alabama Gulf Coast.

The organization has held a vehicle giveaway every year since 2017 to raise funds for the free vacations. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to helping military families. The nonprofit provides beachfront accommodations at no cost to combat veterans from every branch and rank.

Charrier said balancing military duties with family life can be tough during long deployments. The program helps reduce the disconnect that happens when service members are away for months. Operation ReConnect gives families an uninterrupted week to spend together and create memories.

The custom Jeep was built by a team from across the United States. Sponsors include Tacky Jacks in Orange Beach, Rough Country in Dyersburg Tennessee, Bufkin Air Designs in Theodore, Custom Truck Accessory in Foley, Master Shop Paint and Body in Summerdale, and Chuck Stevens Automotive in Bay Minette. The Jeep features the preamble to the U.S. Constitution painted on it to honor the We The People spirit.

Winners do not need to be present at the drawing to win. The organization will contact the winner using the information provided when tickets were purchased. Ticket buyers must be at least 18 years old and live in the United States.
