OWA Parks & Resort will host its sixth annual “Beyond the Moment” event on Friday, June 14. This event is in partnership with Magic Moments, an organization that grants wishes for children with chronic life-threatening illnesses in Alabama.

Over 275 guests will enjoy a complimentary day at OWA’s Tropic Falls, which includes an indoor and outdoor waterpark and a theme park. This event provides a fun family day for children and their families to celebrate and connect.

“We are thrilled to partner with Magic Moments again this year,” said Cathy Pavloski, OWA Parks & Resort's Director of Marketing. She expressed excitement about spreading joy to families facing challenging times.

Magic Moments organizes events like this throughout the year at no cost to the families. This allows the program to build lasting relationships with the children and their families across Alabama.

Kimberly Etherton, Magic Moments Regional Director, shared her excitement about seeing the smiles and joy these events bring. “These events allow our families to escape their everyday lives and just enjoy some fun. OWA is the perfect place for that,” she said.

Founded in 1984, Magic Moments is the only wish-granting organization dedicated to children in Alabama. To date, it has provided over 5,000 magical experiences for children in all 67 counties of the state.

Tracking fish with sonar has been available to the public since 1948, when the famous Furuno brothers introduced the product in their native Japan. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. The results could impact local fishing seasons in the future.
