Parrot Heads Take Flight This Week In Gulf Shores

MOTM events along the beaches of Gulf Shores

Meeting of the Minds has returned to Gulf Shores for it's annual "Parrot Heads in Paradise" convention. Thousands of fans migrate each year to the white sands and emerald waters to celebrate a lifestyle synonymous with Gulf Shores and legendary singer/ songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

If you are not a MOTM member you can easily register HERE and enjoy all of the events along the coast this week. You can also get days passes at the gate.

The PHIP group has made Gulf Shores their new home for the annual party. Local outlets like LuLu's, Flora-Bama and the Hangout are where the birds flock. They also have "Cheese Burger In Paradise" and other specials for the week.

During the month of February local communities will be celebrating Arbor Day events. The south Baldwin towns are proud of the commitment to the trees and the ambiance they bring to local lifes. Alabama’s Arbor Day is the last full week of February.

Orange Beach To Host Hazardous Waste Drop-Off

Orange Beach residents will soon have the chance to safely dispose of unwanted materials during the city’s upcoming Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day. The event will help community members dispose of common household items that can be dangerous if thrown into regular trash.

Anticipation of Frigid Local Weather Has Events Being Cancelled

While snow is currently not in the Alabama coastal forecast, frigid and freezing temperatures are expected to start Friday evening. The National Weather Service in Mobile has declared an "Extreme Cold Watch" and does not forecast a low temp above 32° until Monday.
