Alabama’s First Congressional District Rep. Barry Moore opened his Foley office Friday with a ceremony at City Hall. The U.S. Representative's district includes the entirety of Washington, Mobile, Baldwin and Monroe counties, as well as most of Escambia County.

The office is located on the east side of City Hall and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office’s telephone number is 251-437-6310.

Moore, Foley area officials, members of the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and city and congressional staff members formally opened the office with a ribbon cutting Friday morning.

Mayor Ralph Hellmich said the office will be a benefit to officials and residents in Baldwin County.

“We're very proud to re-establish a congressional office in Foley, Alabama. We know you're about service,” Hellmich said. “Your record stands out helping people and we appreciate it. Whatever we can do here in Foley to help make your stay better and welcome you, we will. We thank you for being here and looking forward to this. We're going to work with you in every way that we can.”

Moore said that during his first four years in office, members of his staff helped about 5,700 constituents dealing with issues involving the federal government.

“My team, they will serve. We work for you,” Moore told residents. “A lot of times in DC, people forget that. They think that they're your ruling class. We're not. We're the serving classes. We're here to serve you. So if you have issues with the Veterans Affairs or IRS, come see us. If you’re missing a passport that little Johnny needs to go on a senior trip come see us.”

The Foley City Council voted to provide three offices on the east side of City Hall for the use of Moore’s staff. The agreement went into effect in January, after Moore took office as the representative for the First Congressional District in Alabama.

Moore has represented Alabama in Congress since 2021. He was first elected as the representative in the Second Congressional District. After a court order changed Congressional district boundaries, he was elected as the First District representative in November 2024.
