Gulf Shores school news

Families have another reason to cheer for the new school year. Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores will host its third annual Back to School Spirit Breakfast with the Marlin. The event blends meet-and-greets, music, and kid-friendly games. Organizers say the focus is simple—celebrate students and welcome the school year with a relaxed morning meal.

The breakfast is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Tacky Jacks Gulf Shores, 240 E 24th Ave. A live DJ will play from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The Gulf Shores High School Cheerleaders are slated to appear from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Miss Marlin is scheduled for photos and handshakes from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Event activities are designed for families who want a low-stress outing. A free photo booth will be set up for quick snapshots. “Tacky” mini-games will run throughout the morning, with chances to win small prizes.

The restaurant is promoting a new breakfast menu during the event. Organizers expect classic plates alongside kid-friendly options, allowing families to order and return to activities quickly. Staff say the format keeps lines moving and the schedule on track.

Music will anchor the morning. The live DJ set aims to maintain a steady pace as families cycle through games, photos, and table service. The approach mirrors last year’s format, which emphasized short waits and frequent activity changes.

The breakfast is now in its third year, signaling steady community interest. The format has stayed consistent—short appearances, approachable activities, and a focus on photos. Organizers say the mix works for families who want structure without stress.

Tacky Jacks lists event information and RSVP access on its
website. Phone inquiries can be directed to the Gulf Shores restaurant at 251-948-8881. As with any public event, details may shift due to weather.
