Florida Powerboat members from from Key West to the Gulf Coast are gathering in Orange Beach for their annual Powerboat Week. The Florida Powerboat Club (FPC) was founded in 1993 as a membership-driven organization to promote safe, responsible powerboating in a group setting and assist performance boating enthusiasts in many ways to achieve the maximum enjoyment from their Florida powerboating lifestyles. The club’s primary platform includes a series of year- round powerboating events including poker runs, rallies and rendezvous, where like-minded boating enthusiasts from around the globe, can share this passion, while enjoying the most popular boating destinations throughout Florida, The Bahamas and Florida’s neighboring states.

The 6th Annual Orange Beach Powerboat Week is coming to Alabama’s Gulf Coast. The three-day event brings fast boats, fun runs, and parties to the area.

The action begins Thursday night at The Wharf in Orange Beach with a welcome party and the Miss Powerboat Week Contest at the Sand Shaker Club.

The event runs May 8 through May 11. On Friday, powerboats will make a fun run to Pensacola and Navarre before returning to Orange Beach. The day ends with a cocktail happy hour at Marker 158.

Saturday’s main event is the poker run. Participants collect cards at three different stops with a lunch break on Mobile Bay. The day wraps up with an open-bar awards party at Dick’s Last Resort.

The Wharf will serve as the main hub for the event. It offers a floating dock marina, free truck and trailer parking, hotel lodging, and many dining options.
