Blue Angels homecoming show takes place Nov. 7-8

gulf shores area event news

The Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show returns to NAS Pensacola in November, attracting aviation fans from across the southeast. The air show is well-known for its high-energy stunts and breathtaking precision. Locals look forward to this experiencing the excitement firsthand. The show celebrates the area’s deep history with military aviation and brings together families, veterans, and visitors supporting the region’s naval heritage.

This year’s performances are scheduled for November 7 and 8, 2025, with gates opening at 8 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Main events will start around 9:30 a.m., giving fans two full days of aerial displays. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline Friday and Saturday, demonstrating their famous routines, while other acts and static aircraft will be showcased on the ground. Premium view tickets go on sale Friday, August 1, 2025.

Admission from the base is free for anyone who wants to watch from the flightline with their own chairs and/or blankets. For those seeking a closer experience, premium box seating tickets cost $50 for people ages four and older. Flightline chalet tables can be reserved for $300 per table of two or $600 for tables of four, which include catered meals and amenities. However, these higher-priced tickets do not provide extra parking access.

Getting to the air show can take planning, especially for those coming from Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, which are 20 to 30 miles away. Organizers recommend leaving home by 6 a.m. to avoid as much traffic as possible along Highway 98, as thousands of cars are expected to head for Pensacola NAS. Parking is first-come, first-served, and once lots fill up, visitors might have a long walk or need to use overflow areas. Travel experts suggest bringing sunscreen, water, and snacks, since food lines can get long.

Visitors should check the official event website before arrival to review restricted items and base regulations. Prohibited items include umbrellas, oversized coolers, and tripods. Packing lightly can make security checks go faster and the experience more comfortable, given the amount of walking required on the tarmac. The event is especially friendly to families, but those with mobility challenges should plan for extended time on their feet.

The Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show doesn’t just entertain crowds—it also boosts the local economy by attracting tourists and supporting businesses. Veterans and active-duty service members may receive access to special areas, creating a sense of appreciation for military families. Attendees are advised to prepare for changing weather, as early November on the Gulf Coast can mean cool mornings or sudden showers. Wearing layers and keeping an eye on forecasts is a good idea.

Looking ahead, organizers hope to make the show even better in future years by adding more educational exhibits. Plans may include interactive STEM activities for younger guests, building interest in aviation and the sciences. With its thrilling performances and community spirit, the Homecoming Air Show continues to be a highlight for the Gulf Coast each year.
