Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — Blueberry season has arrived in Alabama, and there’s no sweeter way to celebrate than heading out to a local farm for a day of U-pick fun. From the first handful you drop into your bucket to the ones you can’t help but snack on along the way, it’s a simple pleasure that tastes like summertime. Across the state, Sweet Grown Alabama farmers are opening their gates, inviting families, friends and berry lovers of all ages to experience fresh, local blueberries straight from the bush.


Whether you’re planning a weekend outing or just looking for a reason to enjoy a little sunshine, U-pick farms offer more than just great fruit—they’re a chance to slow down, connect with where your food comes from and support the hardworking farmers behind it. So grab your bucket, bring the kids and make a memory or two. Peak blueberry season doesn’t last forever, but the sweetness of it sure sticks around.


Baldwin County has many farms that allow visitors for picking during the short blueberry season. groups and families are always encouraged to call ahead to confirm a reserved time. Here are a couple of outlets that participate in the public picking season.


Gardner's Berry Farm- Robertsdale

Gardner's Berry Farm is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. now through early July. Fresh, delicious berries are available for $20 per gallon, with buckets and bags provided for your convenience. They accept cash or check each day, and card payments when available.

Quail Creek Blueberry & Flower Farm- Fairhope

Address: 19710 Lawrence Road, Fairhope, AL 365632

Quail Creek Blueberry & Flower Farm is open for U-pick blueberries June 1 to July 1. You can find several varieties of Rabbiteye Blueberries to snack on and fill your bucket! Price varies.
