NAS Pensacola announces cancellation of airshow

Blue Angels Airshow Cancelled

Naval Air Station Pensacola has cancelled the 2025 Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow. The decision affects one of northwest Florida's largest annual events. The airshow was scheduled to take place over two days. Hundreds of thousands of visitors typically attend the popular aviation event.

The cancellation applies to the shows planned for November 14 and 15. Officials cited ongoing uncertainty regarding government funding as the primary reason. The lead time required to secure contracts for performers and support services made the cancellation unavoidable. Event organizers needed to make the difficult decision early in the planning process.

Captain Chandra "Mamasan" Newman, NAS Pensacola Commanding Officer, addressed the cancellation. She acknowledged the decision was not made lightly. Newman recognized the significant impact the cancellation will have on the community. Event organizers carefully considered the financial requirements associated with executing the large-scale event.

The Blue Angels Homecoming Airshow is a cherished tradition in the Pensacola area. The event celebrates the military presence and relationship with the Gulf Coast community. Aviation enthusiasts from across the region look forward to the show each year. NAS Pensacola staff expressed disappointment about being unable to host the beloved event.

Individuals who purchased Preferred Premium Seating tickets will receive automatic refunds. Attendstar, the contracted vendor for ticket sales, will process the refunds. Customers should see their money returned within one week. The refunds are being handled by the air station's Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department.

Officials stated that NAS Pensacola remains committed to its relationship with the local community. Officials will evaluate the feasibility of hosting future public events. The decision will depend on circumstances and funding availability. The air station hopes to continue serving the community through public events when possible.
