Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — In a collaborative effort to spotlight the marine wildlife of the Alabama Gulf Coast, the Alabama Coastal Foundation and Healthy Gulf are joining forces to host "Celebrating Alabama's Marine Life." This free public event invites community members to the Gulf Coast Eco Center for an evening dedicated to education and environmental awareness.

The event is set for Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will be held in the Palmetto Room at the Gulf Coast Eco Center, located at 1650 Eco Trail, Gulf Shores, AL 36542. Guests will enjoy short films, interactive educational displays, and refreshments while engaging with local conservation experts.

The presentations will focus on vital local species such as sea turtles, whales, and manatees, with a specific update on current sea turtle nesting activity along our beaches. Beyond ecological education, this event highlights how critical these natural resources are to our region. Alabama’s unique marine life is a cornerstone of the local ecotourism industry, which remains essential to the regional economy. By protecting our coastal habitats, we not only preserve precious wildlife but also ensure a sustainable future for the local businesses and communities that depend on thriving, vibrant coastal ecosystems.
