The municipal elections for Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Foley take place today, Tuesday, August 26, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents will vote on mayoral and city council positions across the three cities, with polling locations designated in each community. In Foley, district-specific voting means only voters in Districts 1, 2, 4, and 5 will cast ballots in this election, while Orange Beach and Gulf Shores voters will select from contested races in their respective cities. Runoff elections, if necessary, will be held on Tuesday, September 23, and newly elected officials will begin their four-year terms on November 3, 2025.

Gulf Shores City Elections

The polling location for Gulf Shores' residents living north of the Intracoastal Canal Bridge is the Cultural Center located at 19470 Oak Rd West (County Road 6) Gulf Shores, AL 36542 (map). 

Gulf Shores Residents living south of the Intracoastal Canal Bridge will vote at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center located at 1930 West 2nd Street (behind City Hall), Gulf Shores, AL 36542 (map).

Foley City Elections

Foley voters go to the polls Tuesday Aug. 26, to select the four of the five members of the City Council who will serve for the next four years. Only voters living in Districts 1, 2, 4 and 5 will cast ballots in the August 26th election taking place today.

Residents in Foley will vote at the Foley Civic Center, located at: 407 E. Laurel Ave., Foley AL 36535 (map). 

The positions of mayor and the five City Council seats are up for election in 2025. Mayor Ralph Hellmich is unopposed in his bid for re-election. Roddy Burkle is also the only candidate for the District 3 council position. Foley City Council candidates run by district. Residents living in each city district can only vote for the council candidate running to represent that district.

Because there is no citywide race for mayor or council race in District 3, residents who live in District 3 will not have any races on which to vote. Voters in other areas of Foley will cast ballots for council members competing to represent their district.

includes a link that allows residents to determine which council district they live in.

The new four-year term for city officials will begin in November.
