The 36th Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup SEPTEMBER 16, 2023

News in Gulf Shores About Coastal Cleanup

It is often asked by newcomers to the area "What does it take to be considered LOCAL?" Often the response is not about time but what you have done to help the community. One event that brings the LOCALS together is the Alabama Coastal Cleanup. The 36th year for the event will take place on September 15th and anyone who loves the area is invited.

You or your organization can volunteer to clean Alabama’s coastal waterways and beaches on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 8am – 12pm. If you live inland and can't come to the beach you can you clean your neighborhoods, local parks, streets, and storm drains too. Trash travels through storm drains, streams, and rivers to become bay and Gulf pollution.

You can register and find the zone where you want to contribute HERE. On the website you will find useful tips about what to wear, how to stay hydrated and much more Coastal Cleanup information.

September 16-23, 2023 is National Estuaries Week, an nationwide celebration to raise awareness and increase support for our bays, estuaries and coasts. Find your place to help “Get the Trash Out of the Splash” by volunteering this September 16th in Coastal Alabama area.
