Sea Turtle Education in Gulf Shores

Gulf State Park will welcome families and nature lovers to its annual Turtle Fest this month. The popular educational event returns to the Gulf State Park Fishing Pier in Gulf Shores. Visitors can learn about sea turtle conservation through interactive exhibits and activities. Multiple local organizations will participate in teaching guests about marine wildlife protection.

The festival takes place on Saturday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission costs $5 per person, and parking is free for all attendees. Pick up your parking pass at the ticket tent.

The event brings together several conservation groups working to protect Alabama's coastal wildlife. Gulf State Park teams up with the Alabama Coastal Foundation, Marine Resources, Share the Beach, and The Gulfarium. These organizations focus on protecting turtle nesting sites and restoring their natural habitats.

Families can expect hands-on learning experiences throughout the day. Interactive games will teach visitors about turtle biology and nesting habits. A scavenger hunt will guide guests on an exploration of the fishing pier. Educational craft activities help children learn about marine conservation in fun ways.

The festival offers something for visitors of all ages and knowledge levels. Live educational exhibits showcase local marine life up close. Conservation stations provide information about protecting sea turtles and their environment. Expert talks and demonstrations share important facts about turtle encounters and rehabilitation efforts.

Organizers designed Turtle Fest as a family-friendly celebration of coastal wildlife. The event aims to inspire people to care about marine conservation. Whether visitors are turtle experts or newcomers to marine life, they will find engaging activities.

The Gulf State Park Education Pier provides a beautiful backdrop for the festival. Guests can enjoy scenic views of the Gulf Coast while learning. The pier location offers an ideal setting for discussing ocean conservation and marine habitats.

The event encourages visitors to bring their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Organizers hope to create lasting connections between people and Alabama's coastal wildlife.
