Makos varsity softball remains undefeated

Orange Beach Softball

The Orange Beach Makos Softball remain atop the national high school softball rankings. MaxPreps, the leading online platform for high school sports coverage, and owned by CBS Sports, keeps them #1 in the nation with their unbeaten 19 - 0 start to the season.


Earlier this week the Orange Beach Varsity Girls Softball team won their game against Jasper High School by a score of 15-0. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the local rival Fairhope Pirates.


So far the Makos softball team has a .403 batting average with 184 runs and 35 home runs.


Sophomore, MK McMullan leads the State ASHAA with an ERA just 0.23 runs allowed. The full team contributes and share the accolades.



MaxPreps reporter, Thomas Frey, highlighted McMullan's performance in his national column stating "No. 1 Orange Beach (Ala.) is led in the circle by sophomore M.K. McMullan, who checks in at No. 3 on this list with a 0.23 ERA. Since allowing two earned runs in the season opener, McMullan has gone 56 straight innings without allowing an opponent to cross the plate. She is 37-1 in her career with 259 strikeouts."
