Orange Beach Citizens can honor veterans at the Orange Beach Veterans Memorial through the city’s memorial brick project. The City of Orange Beach is offering engraved bricks to be placed at the memorial in front of the Municipal Complex. City leaders say the effort is part of the America 250 Alabama Initiative and follows the city’s recognition as an Official Alabama Semiquincentennial City. The memorial is designed to serve as a visible reminder of service and sacrifice in the heart of the city.

The Veterans Memorial is located at 4101 Orange Beach Boulevard and has become a focal point of recent improvements to the municipal campus. The site features a large American flag as well as flags for every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. As part of the brick program, a limited number of engravable bricks are available for purchase at $200 each. The bricks measure 4 inches by 8 inches. City officials say the program is intended to give residents a lasting way to recognize individual veterans by name.

Once a brick request is submitted, approved, and paid, it can take up to three months for the brick to be installed at the memorial. The gray bricks are engraved with epoxy-filled black lettering they will be laid near the main entrance to the memorial on Orange Beach Boulevard. Each brick allows three lines of text, with a maximum of 14 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation. All wording must be in all capital letters and will be centered on the brick.

The area where the bricks will be placed has been planned as part of the broader memorial design, which includes flags honoring each branch of the military. The program is one of several ways the city is marking the nation’s 250th anniversary, alongside events and activities scheduled through 2026.

Memorial Brick Requests can be submitted online through a city form, or residents can pick up and complete paper forms at Orange Beach City Hall. Credit card and check payments are accepted, with a 3.5% convenience fee for online purchases. For in-person payments, checks must be delivered to the Finance Department at City Hall, along with completed forms. All submitted forms are subject to approval and will be reviewed by the City of Orange Beach administration before engraving and installation.
