Foley Christmas in the Park Rescheduled

Foley Christmas Events

Foley Christmas events scheduled for the upcoming weekend have been moved to Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12 and 13, due to weather. Rain is forecast to continue through most of the upcoming weekend.


Christmas in the Park, which had been planned for Dec. 5, will be moved to Friday, Dec. 12. The annual celebration will include the official lighting of the city Christmas tree, refreshments, the announcement of the winners of the Christmas Tree Decoration Contest and a visit from Santa. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. 


On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Foley Christmas Parade will roll through the streets of downtown Foley beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will include music, floats, other participants and Santa Claus.


Also on Saturday, Foley’s annual Let It Snow event takes place in Heritage Park. The marketplace will begin at 9 a.m. Let It Snow activities, including a snowy wonderland, music and food, begin at 11 a.m.


The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra Holiday Concert will still take place Friday, Dec. 5. The concert includes holiday favorites performed by a full symphony orchestra of young musicians. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center. Admission is free.


On Monday, Dec. 8, the Baldwin Pops will perform their Christmas Concert at the Foley Civic Center. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Audience members are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots campaign.


The Christmas Night Market will take place Thursday, Dec. 11 at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event includes artisans offering gift items as well as baked good vendors preparing holiday treats. Food trucks will also be at the event offering.

 

On Dec. 18, the Downtown Foley Christmas Fest. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitors can enjoy Christmas Fest specials at downtown Foley businesses. 


The Graham Creek Christmas Trail is also scheduled to begin Saturday, Dec. 6. Visitors can walk the trail each evening, taking in displays illuminated by thousands of Christmas lights. Santa Claus will also be on hand to meet with young people. Admission is $5 for visitors older than 2. 


The trail will be open Dec. 6, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.


The Foley Performing Arts Association’s Trim A Tree event continues through Dec. 23 at the Foley Art Center at 211 N.McKenzie St. in downtown Foley. Trim-A-Tree includes unique Christmas ornaments, decorations and gifts created by local artists and members of the Foley Art Center.
